Every individual needs a different approach when learning!
As your golf coach it is my job to diagnose your strengths and weaknesses, and then provide an action plan to educate you
CONFIDENCE
Confidence is a result of the knowledge and proof to one’s self that they are capable of executing a skill in all situations.
PROFESSIONAL - It is my role to provide you with the knowledge of your own golf game and how to approach all aspects of your game during both practice and game situations.
GOLFER – It is your role to take the information away and execute this though both practice and on course play, done correctly this will provide you with the confidence you may never have experienced before.
PHYSICAL LIMITATIONS
Relates to strength, flexibility, injury rehabilitation and recovery, it is my job to recognise these issues and work with what you have to maximise your swing capabilities. This process will lead to the correction of swing/game and can lead to injury prevention.
POSTURE – Posture is the single most important key to balance, not everyone will have perfect posture but EVERYONE will certainly have their “maximum capability” that I will show you how to achieve and also the benefits for your golf game.
EQUIPMENT SUITABILITY
Custom fitting is a must if you are serious about improving or simply just playing a consistent game of golf! I will endeavour to provide you with the very best golf set for your swing type.
Areas of club fitting include;
- Lie angle, Lie angle is a direct influence on directional ball flight. As a secondary influence, a player will effect change (consciously and sub-consciously) to repeated directional errors. Unfortunately many players assume responsibility for this when the real culprit is incorrect lie angle on their equipment.
- Length of club, this is a serious influence on your posture, if the club is to short you will not be able to rotate to your full potential and if to long your rotation will not load up its potential power, resulting in inconsistent golf.
- Of course shaft, club head and grip type are all very important aspects and influence your ball flight in a positive way if fitted correctly.
LEARNING STYLES
There are three main learning styles:
VISUAL learners benefit by actually seeing what they need to learn. They are normally good mimics and need to see a visual image to best understand what is required. These individuals are very keen to see a good result from a shot.
- AUDITORY “I REALLY HEAR WHAT YOU ARE SAYING.”
AUDITORY learners need the verbal explanation of what is being taught. These individuals respond to the sound of a good shot.
- KINESTHETIC “I’VE GOT A HANDLE ON THAT.”
KENESTHETIC learners need to feel the position they have to achieve. They are sensitive to the feel of a balanced golf swing. These individuals respond to the impact feel of a great shot.
- It is my role to form a relationship with all of my clients and provide you with the best possible learning style. I have had many cases where the student learns by more than one medium.
