Club Fitting

Club fitting in today's golf world is not an option if you want to play to your potential, it is a MUST!

Simple things such as lie and loft of your club heads, length of club, grip size type and condition and possibly most importantly shaft type and flex will all affect the way you swing the club and in affect the ball flight.

Lie Angle

Lie Angle is the angle between the shaft and the ground line when the club is in playing position.

Upright – encourages pull or hook

Flat - encourages push or slice

Correct - face will come through square to the target resulting in a straight ball flight

Length

Club length will effect a lot of important factors in your swing including, set up, lie angle, power ratio measurement and of course rhythm. It is important to find the correct shaft length for your swing to be able to be efficient and produce consistent results.

Grip

The grip is a crucial and often overlooked part of the club; make sure your grips are maintained and not hard and slippery. This will result in unnecessary hand pressure affecting your body tension and intern swing rhythm.

Grip size is also important; make sure your hands fit comfortably around your grip with your finger tips not pushing into the palm of your hand; grip resizing is possible for all grips. Make sure also you are happy with the feel of your grips, there are many grips on the market today including:

•  Rubber

•  Wrap

•  Cord

•  ½ Cord

•  Softie

•  Leather

•  Plus many more

Shaft

The golf shaft is the most important factor in a consistent ball flight, not only the flex but the weight, kick and length will all be factors. This is measured accurately by using a launch monitor that picks up swing speed, launch angle, ball spin, power ratio, distance and ball velocity. From these readings we can give you a shaft with the correct weight, flex and length to maximize all of these factors and achieve a longer and straighter ball flight.

Fittings involve starting with your club and then moving into other clubs with the loft and shaft that will better suit your swing. Remember everyone has a different swing and just because the pros are using it, does not mean it is the best option!
